STRAIGHT STORY JUST MISSES IN $500,000 GRADE 2

June 21, 2009

In his first Graded stakes attempt, 3-year-old Straight Story was a game but hardluck second in the $500,000 Colonial Turf Cup S.-G2. The son of Giant’s Causeway was always forwardly placed, but was carried wide into the eight path when making his move on the far turn. He still closed with a furious rush to finish just a head behind the winner. Straight Story now has two wins and a second in three starts on turf.  Bred by Gallagher’s Stud, he was sold for $400,000 at the Keeneland September Sale, and races for Richard Santulli and trainer Alan Goldberg.
