Elite Consignment, Elite Results at Fasig-Tipton November
There was a small, quality consignment for Denali Stud at the 2021 “Night of the Stars” at Fasig-Tipton but the results were spectacular with two multi-million dollar mares, a sought-after racing prospect, and a gorgeous weanling exchanging hands at the end of the night.
Millionaire Mares
Grade I winner, Moonshine Memories, took the title as consignment topper when the gorgeous daughter of the late, great Malibu Moon commanded $3,400,000 from West Bloodstock. She was the sixth most expensive mare of the sale behind the likes of SheDaresTheDevil, Swiss Skydiver, Vequist, and Guarana. She sold in foal to the world’s best stallion, Into Mischief.
Bye Bye Baby (IRE) came into the sale armed with one of the best female families in the Stud Book and they bid accordingly. The full-sister to four graded-stakes horses, and the family of Dylan Thomas (IRE), was purchased by Narvick International for $3,100,000. She sold in foal to Tapit, who is having a record-breaking season in 2021 both as a sire and grandsire.
A Record-Breaking Racing Prospect
It’s not every day that a raised and grazed horse returns to her birthplace to be sold, but it was a homecoming of sorts for Summer In Saratoga. A course record breaker on the track, she came into the sale riding a victory in the Gr. III Dowager at Keeneland; the last, and a bittersweet win, in her former connection’s colors. The daughter of Hard Spun was well-received by buyers, and she ultimately went the way of Anderson Farms for a cool $630,000 when the bidding was over.
A Star of the Future
The good looking son of War Front out of the G3P Medaglia d’Oro mare, Sundaysatthebeach went through the ring late into the sale and brought $285,000 from Hunter Valley Farm. With GIW Ask the Moon his second dam, and a stakes winner by War Front under her (g. named Belgrano), he is the first foal from a young mare and shows a lot of promise.
As always, we thank our clients for trusting us with some of their best horses, and we look forward to seeing everyone at Keeneland November across town.
