Serena’s Song Celebrates Her 27th Birthday at Denali Stud!
Happy 27th Birthday to our Queen of Denali Stud!!
G1 winning mare SERENA’S SONG (bay mare by Rahy out of Imagining foaled in Kentucky on April 4th, 1992)
Owned by Robert and Beverly Lewis and trained by Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas, Serena’s Song became the first filly to ever win the G1 Haskell Invitational against the boys in 1995. That same year she earned Champion Three-Year-Old Filly Eclipse Award Honors. She was retired from racing in late 1996 with a record of 18 wins, 11 seconds, 3 thirds from 38 starts, 11 of her 17 Graded wins were Grade 1’s and her earnings of $3,283,388 were a record for an American filly or mare at the time. Serena’s Song was inducted into the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame with the class of 2002. This champion race mare’s breeding accomplishments are as notable as her racing accomplishments evident in her daughters and grandchildren today. Our retired beauty now enjoys her days turned out to pasture with her field mates, her wonderful snacks and visits from fans, and of course a lovely spa day getting pampered with a bath and treats for her big day!
