Denali Stud tops Fasig Tipton Select Sale with $1.45 Million Filly

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Denali Stud is pleased to announce that we have topped the Fasig Tipton Saratoga Select sale with our Medaglia d’Oro filly, Hip 191. The filly was bred in Kentucky by Josephine Abercrombie’s Pin Oak Stud and is out of the Stakes winning Thunder Gulch mare Whisper to Me and is a half sister to Grade 2 winner Overheard. Mandy Pope purchased the filly for $1.45 million during the second session of the sale. We would like to congratulate both parties and we wish Mandy Pope the best of luck with her purchase. We’ll be watching for her in the winner’s circle in the future!

Also making a splash for the Denali Stud consignment was Hip 40, a striking bay colt by Medaglia d’Oro out of winning A.P. Indy mare Globe Trot. With recent G3 Bashford Manor S. runner up Recruiting Ready updating an already very good pedigree, this colt was hammered down to Ruis Racing for $630,000. We thank the buyers and wish them the best of luck with this athletic colt.

And finally, Denali raised and sold Hip 50, a lovely Bernardini colt out of Grade 3 winner Hessonite. This is the first foal out of the mare, who was purchased by Denali Stud on behalf of a client at the Fasig Tipton November sale. He was purchased for $300,000 by Crupi’s New Castle Farm and we can’t wait to see what he does on the racetrack!
