Fasig-Tipton New York Preferred Yearlings sales wrap

Buoyed by a quartet of six-figure horses, Denali Stud was once again a top seller at the Aug. 9-10 Fasig-Tipton Preferred Sale of New York-bred yearlings. Denali’s finally tally with 13 horses selling through the ring was $904,000, second-highest number for all consignors.

Denali’s top seller was hip No. 393, a colt from the first crop of Grade 2 winner Trappe Shot. The dark bay juvenile is the first foal out of Not A Peep, a half-sister to the multiple stakes winner Brigand and the stakes winner Sky Music. Capital Partners signed the winning ticket for $160,000.

Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC was the winning bidder at $140,000 for hip No. 292, a filly by Flatter who Denali consigned on behalf of Berkshire Stud and B. D. Gibbs Farm. The filly, the first foal out of Empress Josephine, by Empire Maker, comes from a stellar family that includes Arkansas Derby (G2) winner Private Emblem and Grade 2 Churchill Downs S. champ Central Banker.

Hip No. 459, also consigned for Berkshire, went to Bethel Cross Farms for $120,000. The filly is by Mineshaft out of Silence Please, the dam of the aforementioned Not A Peep.

Hip No. 515 was another Trappe Shot yearling, this one a filly bought, like hip No. 292, by Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC, for $105,000. The bay filly’s dam is the multiple stakes-placed mare Two Times Won who earned nearly $200,000 on the racetrack.
