Denali Stud will be offering twelve yearling prospects at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale in New York August 6th and 7th. This sale is known as one of the thoroughbred industry’s premier auctions. In recent years Denali Stud has sold million dollar sale toppers such as Grade 1 Belmont Stakes Champion TAPWRIT for $1.2 million in 2015. We followed in 2016 with a $1.45 million Medaglia d’Oro filly, Whisper to Mama, and in 2017 a colt by Hall of Famer Curlin out of the mare River’s Prayer, who co-topped the sale at $1 million. With a track record of Saratoga success, we look forward to this year’s sale and some more “Saturday Afternoon Horses.”

This year, we are pleased to present to you:

HIP 2, a gray or roan filly by Liam’s Map out of the Grade 1 winning Put It Back mare, Jessica Is Back

Pedigree: http://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2018/0806/2.pdf

Although this filly’s sire Liam’s Map only had eight career starts, he went out on top as a Breeders’ Cup Champion by winning the G1 Dirt Mile and setting a new track record. He was sold for $800,000 at the 2012 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, and comes from the family of Miss Macy Sue, a G3 winning and track record setting mare who’s female family traces back to Aspidistra, the foundation mare responsible for Dr. Fager and Unbridled. His pedigree also contains strains from one of the best female sprinters in history, Ta-We.

This filly’s dam, Jessica Is Back, broke through at the top level when winning the G1 Princess Rooney Handicap. A hard knocking mare who hit the board 30 times in 48 starts, she is sure to pass along durability to her offspring.
