Stellar showing for Denali at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearlings auction
Denali Stud had a trio of yearling go through the ring at the Aug. 4-5 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearlings sale, with every one of the juveniles bringing a winning bid of at least $300,000.
The sales average of $333,333 and median price of $350,000 both represented some of the strongest figures in both categories.
Hip No. 97, a colt by top sire Malibu Moon, was bought by Debbie Oxley for $350,000. The colt is out of the Grade 2 Beaumont S. winner Street Sounds.
Hip No. 126, a filly, was purchased by John Ferguson for the same price. The dark bay daughter of champion Kitten’s Joy hails from the same family as Paddy o’Prado and 2014 Kentucky Oaks (G1) champ Untapable.
George Isaacs, on behalf of Bridlewood Farm, went to $300,000 for hip No. 48, a filly by Tiznow out of the stakes winner Mimi’s Bling, who also has a 2-year-old that has not started. Mimi’s Bling is a half-sister to Custom for Carlos, a three-time Grade 3 winner of $483,865.
“She is one of the best Tiznows I’ve ever seen,” remarked Isaacs shortly after the purchase.
