Top-Priced Strong Mandate Filly Shines at 2018 Fasig-Tipton July Sale
By: Alexis Kolasa
Denali Stud is pleased to have sold the second highest priced yearling at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton July Yearling Sale. Hip 231, a bay filly by exciting second-crop sire Strong Mandate out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Fly The Flag, brought a final bid of $435,000, making her the top- priced filly in the sale. Alex and JoAnn Lieblong purchased the yearling, who comes from a very successful female family. Her dam is a half-sister to Champion Storm Flag Flying, and Stakes winner and producer With Flying Colors. This is also the family of undefeated Champion and Broodmare of the Year Personal Ensign. The filly was raised in Kentucky by Winstar Farm, and consigned by Craig and Holly Bandoroff, Denali Stud agent.
